Every now and then I come across a wedding that just “gets” me. Makes me want to get married again, and again. Not just because the couple seem so right together, and blissfully in love but because they seem so tight, you know? Like absolutely nothing is going to break them, the wedding being important but they were going to stick together anyway.. That’s these two, that’s Kristin and Kevin.
I travelled to Rhode Island and arrived at the stunning location, Whispering Pines set in the woodland and lakes area deep in the Rhode Island countryside, as their website says: “2,300 acres of forests, lakes and streams, Whispering Pines is a place like no other.”
Kristin quietly and calmly getting ready in the main house and Kevin dressing with his boys in a cabin across the way from her. Immediately we felt calm and relaxed when we arrived- both of them ready to say I Do.
The wedding was held on the lawn overlooking the lake, the reception in the grounds and the decking behind the house, always the lake in view, the day was magical. Taking them deep into the woods for portraits and then a fun trip on the canoe; this was my kind of adventurous couple!
This wedding will stay in my memory for a long time, Whispering Pines is such a special place to get married, I feel privileged to have been there to capture the day and wish them all the best. You guys rock. X
So here she is, our very own Tash on her Engagement shoot! I can’t tell you how exciting it is for me to have my second shooter organising her wedding at last!!! The amount of weddings we have attended over the years together where she and we have dreamt about the ideal wedding for her, the dresses, the shoes, the venues, sometimes and often bringing a tear to our eyes at the reality of peoples love and knowing and seeing how much Tash wanted that, to be with someone who absolutely loved her unconditionally and completely, someone she could dream with and plan with, someone to hold hands with in her wedding dress. Now finally its happened.
They have the most beautiful love story, which we will save till the wedding day but trust me, this ones going to make you cry! I get goosebumpy already imagining her next year having her day, her family and friends will be so emotional watching her and Jake tie the knot and alongside Tash’s lovely daughter Sophia and their new addition Dixie, its going to be perfect!
Anyway, this is engagement shoot part one, because Tash has requested another location too, so we thought, why not! Make the most of having a mate who’s a photographer!!! So watch this space for the next installment of Tash and Jake…xx
We love flowers at the best of times, but weddings flowers, we cant get enough of them. the favourites smell a lot and are colourful and eye catching but sometimes the most effective are simple, white and just stunning. flowers on the tables, flowers on the bridesmaids and the mother of the bride but those bouquets are the ones we like the best. So we’ve out together some of our favourite bouquets, chair and table accents, some of which we wish we could have taken with us at the end of the night!
Some of the following that made the top of the list have stood out because of the thoughtful nature that they have been put together, the way they have been displayed and the pure fact that they are amazing wedding flowers. We appreciate the details at weddings because we believe that some details can really make a wedding special both for the couple and their guests. Its the little things that make the biggest difference….
1. Just the prettiest bouquets for the bride and the Maid of Honour….
2. Rustic table accents and flowers for the bridesmaids…
3. The simplest buttonholes for the boys. Cant beat a simple white rose.
4. Perfectly put together, different hues of deep vintage pink…
5. Love the way these are tied, string, ribbon and lace….
6. An abundance of flowers. Bigger the better…
7. Keep it classy and simple sometimes…
8. Hard to get right, Summery yellow and daisies…
9. Keep the Chair accents simple and romantic….
10. Rustic, Shabby chic and beautiful…
Always such a pleasure to photograph a new baby. Pippa called and asked me to meet Aliyah at their home in Brighton, she was only a week old. With a fabulous head of hair she was so sweet and content, no crying, just relaxing with her Mummy and Daddy for the camera. They wanted a really relaxed shoot, capturing her naturally so I shot her in natural light, using their home as the backdrop. Both parents still reeling from this new arrival, they cuddled and cradled her while she enjoyed the camera.
Thanks Aliyah for letting me take your first official photos, I’m sure you’ll have plenty more in years to come and with a name like that I’m sure you’ll be a little star x
